Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What does 'nighttime shutoff' or 'light sensor' mean?

Most cuckoo clocks (either mechanical or battery powered) come with 'nighttime shutoff' in either a manual or 'light sensor' variety. This just means that both varieties enable you to control when the clock makes sounds.

Mechanical cuckoo clocks have a manual 'nighttime shutoff' which are usually a lever with 2 positions - sound on or sound off.

Battery powered cuckoo clocks usually come with an automatic 'nighttime shutoff' otherwise known as a light sensor which detects light levels and disables sound when the lights are off or it is very dark. While some include volume levels as well as sound on/off positions, some models also include an option to stop the sound between the hours of 9:00pm and 8:00am.

Pace Wall Clock 30.5cm (Natural wood) by Lemnos

This stunning, rustic-styled wall clock breathes with life on the hour and adorns any wall with style. Every square inch of it's hand crafted frame is coated in a thin clear varnish which brings out the fine grain of the sturdy, high-quality plywood, beautifully treated and engineered.

From Japanese design leaders 'Lemnos', the 'Pace' wall clock has an unconventional circular frame cuckoo clock with the image of a birdhouse laid over the modern clock dial. Made of high-quality plywood and evoking the feel of a trompe-l’æil piece, the 'Pace' wall cuckoo clock is designed to evoke a sense of play - from the cuckoo’s window placement in the 6 o’clock position to the bird figure motif of the clock hands.

The 'Pace' cuckoo clock, designed by Japanese designer Akira Yamamoto, comes in two colours - walnut and natural wood - which are both made of tough, beautifully treated, high quality plywood.
