This beautiful traditional chalet 1-day movement cuckoo clock is crafted by renowned Black Forest cuckoo clock manufacturer 'Trenkle Uhren'.

Like many cuckoo clocks from Germany, this style of clock centres around the theme of the ‘Black Forest chalet’. These types of houses, common to the mountainous Alpine regions in Germany and traditionally built of wood and stone, make for a favourite theme for many cuckoo clock makers, who adorn them with common decorations such as pine trees, cheerful animals, log piles and other delightfully iconic ornaments of the region.

Features:

  • Moving cuckoo bird which moves out from behind it's door and chimes with it’s ’cuckoo' sound on the hour
  • Moving pendulum that sways side-to-side
  • Manual night-time sound shut off feature
  • 1-day movement (which means it needs to be wound manually only once a day)

This cuckoo clock has 1-day movement meaning each day the clock needs to be manually wound. The act of winding the cuckoo clock is very easy and only requires someone to gently pull on the chains so that the weights are drawn back to their utmost position. Gravity does the rest and ensures the clock can be kept perfectly on time as the weight lowers and slowly pulls the chain back through the mechanism.

This clock is constructed with a wooden dial, wooden hands, exclusive life-like wooden cuckoo bird and wooden pendulum. It’s weights are made of cast iron and hang approximately 1.8 to 2 metres from the bottom of the clock although they can be hooked behind the clock in accordance with the instructions provided. The dimensions listed below refer only to the clock without pendulum and weights.

All Trenkle Uhren cuckoo clocks are crafted in the Black Forest region, Germany with locally sourced materials from the Black Forest. All the hand-crafted elements are made following the centuries old tradition of craftsmanship in the region. All mechanical elements of each clock are thoroughly tested before they leave the workshop.
