This beautiful chalet 1-day movement traditional cuckoo clock is crafted by renowned cuckoo clock manufacturer 'Hekas' in the Black Forest, Germany.

Design

Made from wood sourced locally from the Black Forest in Germany, it is a reproduction of the original 'train station' or railway-house' cuckoo clocks of 1885. As the story goes, the 'Bahnhaeusli' design was commissioned in honour of the workers of the Black Forest Railway Line. The railway was built through the very mountainous Black Forest in the 19th Century, under great effort from the workers. To honour them, this clock was built in imitation of one of the 19th century train stations, and given to the workers.

This 1-day movement chalet cuckoo clock is perfect for adding some rustic charm to any living room, hallway or study.

Cuckoo Chime

This clock features a charming little cuckoo bird which animates from behind it's little door and sings in the hour (a succession of cuckoo calls to correspond to the hour in the day). The sound can be turned off manually at night with a 'sound-off' lever.

This clock features:

    • Moving cuckoo bird which moves out from behind it's door and chimes with it’s ’cuckoo' sound on the hour.
    • Moving pendulum that sways side-to-side.
    • Manual night-time sound shut-off lever.
    • 1-day movement (which means it needs to be wound manually only once a day).
    • A mechanical 'REGULA' movement which is made by the market-leader 'SBS-FEINTECHNIK' in the Black Forest/Germany.
    • Solid cast-iron 'pine-cone-shaped' weights.

    1-day Movement

This cuckoo clock has 1-day movement meaning each day (or 24 hours) the clock needs to be manually wound. The act of winding the cuckoo clock is very easy and only requires someone to gently pull on the chains so that the weights are drawn back to their utmost position. Gravity does the rest, and as the weights lower, they slowly pull the chains back through the clock-work mechanism ensuring the clock can be kept perfectly on time.
