Railroad-style cuckoo clocks are reproductions of antique cuckoo clocks created around the year 1885. These kinds of clocks traditionally known as the 'Bahnhaeusli' style became famous during this time for their unique design.

As the story goes, the Bahnhaeusli design was commissioned in honour of the workers of the Black Forest Railway Line. The railway was built through the very mountainous Black Forest in the 19th Century, under great effort from the workers. To honour them, this clock was built in imitation of one of the 19th century train stations, and was given to the workers for their efforts.
